So you’re thinking of doing a relaxing vacay at Sandals St. Lucia? Great choice. But the hard part is nailing down which of the three to choose from. After plenty of research and debating, my husband and I went with Sandals Resort Halcyon Beach. Quite a few factors went into that decision, and it was made (somewhat) easier by Sandals’s “Stay at 1, Play at 3” policy.
Though we had a FABULOUS time, made even better by the butler service and our beautiful oceanfront villa, I’m not sure we made the best choice for what we value doing the most on vacation.

So that’s what this blog post is going to cover: what the differences are between the 3 Sandals Resorts on St. Lucia. We’ll compare Grande vs. La Toc vs. Halcyon, the vibes, the dining, the rooms, and more, with on that flexible Sandals policy mentioned earlier.
While I only stayed at Halcyon and never visited the other properties, I did plenty of research (both before and talking to other guests at our stay) to completely understand them and their differences. So let’s get into it.

St. Lucia Sandals Grande vs. La Toc vs. Halcyon: What’s the Difference?

In short, the difference breaks down to their vibes, who has the best beach, what type of room you want, and options for dining. Of course, too, it’s important to remember that Sandals offers a pretty nifty “Stay at 1, Play at 3” policy, most notably for St. Lucia. (Which I get into later in this post.)
Before we get into comparing these three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia, let’s look at them and their unique amenities. Starting with the largest on the island:
1. Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Grande is the biggest of the Sandals resorts on St. Lucia and is known of being a bit more lively (aka good if you want to par-tay and socialize). I also was under the impression that it had the most beachfront compared to the other two resorts. I could see if we stayed longer, we would definitely prioritize visiting this location for a day or at the least a fancy dinner.
- Currently rated 4.51 with 10,145 Reviews (per Sandals website)
- 12 specialty restaurants and seven bars.
- Five Pools, 3 whirlpools, and a scuba pool.
- Closet to the 18-hole resort-style golf course, Cap Estate, which is just a five minute drive away.
2. Sandals Halcyon Beach
Halcyon was the Sandals St. Lucia resort we stayed at. I did plenty of research but landed on this one because of the size and ocean-front rooms. Again, we booked kinda late (like two months out so we didn’t have all of the rooms available to us and I really prioritized an ocean view room)… Compared to the other two, this one falls right in the middle. Not too big, not too small, not too rowdy, but also not too quiet.
- Currently rated 4.51 with 6,422 Reviews
- Seven specialty restaurants, including an overwater grill, and seven bars.
- Three pools, three whirlpools, and a scuba pool
3. Sandals Regency La Toc
La Toc is the smallest of the three Sandals resorts in St. Lucia but also the most intimate and best (as I imagine) for rest and relaxation. From the photos I saw, I think it had the “worst” beach of the three. I mean it’s still a beach in St. Lucia in the Caribbean, it’s not gonna be awful. It also had the fewest amount of pools, though the surrounding landscape was the most stunning. It really is all about picking what you value and like most.
- Currently rated 4.39 with 11,299 Reviews
- 10 specialty restaurants and nine bars.
- Three pools and four whirlpools
What is Sandals’ “Stay at 1, Play at 3”?

Per Sandals’ website, their “Stay at 1, Play at 3” policy means “when you book a stay at one of their all-inclusive Caribbean resorts, you get full access to the amenities, dining, and entertainment at other nearby Sandals or Beaches resorts” So yes, you can visit all three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia! Important to note is how far apart the three resorts are. Luckily they are situated on the same general side of the island.

More specifically, as shown in the map above, Sandals Halcyon Beach is located in-between the two other Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia. On a 20-minute drive to the south, you’ll find Sandals Regency La Toc. On a 30-minute drive up north, you’ll find Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The transfer between Regency La Toc and Grande St. Lucian takes around 45 minutes. Transfers are free and you’ll find busses running somewhat frequently, even late at night!
Deciding Which Sandals St. Lucia Resort is Best For You

So when booking a stay at an all-inclusive Sandals Resort, you’ll notice many of the Caribbean islands have multiple Sandals. And from what I’ve seen, they’re not just carbon copies of each other. Not at all…
When deciding which Sandals St. Lucia Resort to stay at, consider these factors, as they are where the resorts are quite different:
- Beach: Do you prioritize a big beautiful, easy-to-access beach?
- Rooms: Are you looking for a type of room with a specific feature such as ocean views or a private pool?

- Bars and Dining: Do you want a ton of food options and lots of bars, or are you ok with having more options visiting the other resorts?
- Proximity to Airport: I noticed this among more seasoned Sandals guests, but they do prefer certain Sandals resorts based on how close they are to the airport. Which I get! As soon as I land in paradise, I want to be in my bathing suit with a frozen bevy STAT. In St. Lucia, you’ll most likely be landing at Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) which is on the south end of the island. Also, look into getting a private helicopter transfer if you want the absolute quickest route the your all-inclusive resort.

- Price: Pricing varies, but typically they’re in the same range. I noticed that Grande skew a bit pricier across all rooms. I did a quick check writing this post, picking random dates in Winter 2026, Grande was the most expensive ($808 a night) vs. La Toc ($695) and Halcyon ($674).
- Vibes: This is super important to consider. Do you want more socializing or peace and quiet?
- ”Stay at 3, Play at 1”: Finally, as sweet as this Sandals policy sounds, depending on the length of your trip, your schedule of excursions, bus time tables, and SCUBA training, you might find it actually hard to make it out to the other Sandals resorts.
Bottom Line: Which Sandals St. Lucia Resorts is Best?

Now that we covered that, and you know a bit more about each resort (separate. From how they compare to the others) and how the “Stay at 1, Play at 3” policy works (and its own pros and cons), here’s a quick overview of which St. Lucia Sandals Resort is “best” for which type of vacation:
- Best in St. Lucia for Honeymoons and Romance: Sandals Halcyon Beach
- Quietest Sandals Resort in St. Lucia for Peace and Relaxation: Sandals Regency La Toc
- Best for Nightlife: Sandals Grande St. Lucian
- Best St. Lucia Sandals for Dining: Sandals Grande St. Lucian
- Sandals St. Lucia Resort with the Best Beach: Toss up between Halcyon Beach and Grande

What are the Three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia?
Sandals currently has three Caribbean resorts in St. Lucia: Halcyon Beach, Grande, and La Toc. In a few words, here’s what to know about each :
Which Sandals Resort is Best in St. Lucia?
It really all comes down to what YOU (and your boo thang) want in the vacation. Want to party and have a big beach? Choose Sandals Grande. Want some intimacy and relaxation? Choose La Toc. Want romance and a touch of nightlife? Choose Halcyon Beach. Or choose whichever is cheapest at the time and take advantage of Sandals’ “Stay at 1, Play at 3” policy!

Can You Visit All Three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia?
Yes! As detailed earlier in this post, Sandals has a pretty cool policy for their St. Lucia resorts. You can book a stay at one, and visit the other two as often as you want. As far as I know, this policy is pretty unique to their St. Lucia resorts, I can’t speak to it being a thing on other islands with multiple resorts.
And as I understood it… You get the same level of service as you would at your “home” resort. Though something to consider, is the time it takes to travel to those resorts and the bus timetables.
Is Sandals St. Lucia Worth It?
Of course! I will say it can be pricier than a typical all-inclusive, and it was far more expensive than budget backpacking, but still it is worth it. From picking random dates in Winter 2026 Grande was the most expensive ($808 a night) vs. La Toc ($695) and Halcyon ($674).
We definitely paid for a premium experience, and I’m sure we could’ve gotten a better deal if we had gone to a Sandals Resort travel agent or waited for their “777” promotion…
Still… Nothing’s perfect, but hell yea Sandals was worth it. The relaxation, the butler handling EVERYTHING, the beautiful and well-maintained facilities, no kids or loud bachelorette groups… Oh goodness, we really had the best time in paradise.

If you made it this far, thank you! And congrats, I hope that you now feel fully confident with all the information you need to make an informed decision on which Sandals St. Lucia resort is best for you!
We choose Halcyon for the room offerings and proximity to the beach, though I grew bored of our dining options by the end of the trip, and we didn’t quite have the time in our schedule to visit the other two Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia: La Toc and Grande.

That being said, it still was a freaking amazing trip. I can’t wait to go back to another Sandals, and I am SO JEALOUS of those couples who get to take these type of all-inclusive resort vacations frequently. #goals
