I love staying in unique Airbnbs. Whether or not they’re in Texas.
It’s such a great way to travel and get to see new parts of the world. The hosts usually put their own unique spin and personality into each rental.
Many times I’ve stayed at an Airbnb that came with a guidebook written by the host on things to do, eat, and see nearby.
You don’t get that personal touch at a hotel! The guidebook is just one of the many personal touches (good) host add in their rentals.
The Most Unique Airbnb Rentals in Texas
So I don’t know about you all but even when I’m not staying in cool Airbnbs, I’m usually browsing to see what new adventure I can start planning next.
Which is why I have an embarrassing amount of unique places saved on Airbnb. I figured it was a bit selfish to keep them to myself though.
So here we go! Here are my favorite unique Airbnb rentals in Texas.
The Nest is one of the most unique Airbnbs around. Sitting at the top of Texas Hill Country, you’ll get spectacular views from this secluded oasis. Both a treehouse and a ‘bohemian’ bungalow, The Nest is the perfect place for an Instagrammable weekend trip.
This eye-catching Dallas Airbnb rental is nothing but a big rush of nostalgia for those who grew up in the 80’s. The pastel colors, gaming systems, and retro furniture will make you feel like a kid again!
Looking for a different vibe? The owner of this house also has two other Airbnb rentals in Dallas that are just as unique as the 80’s house.
On my last trip to West Texas, we stayed at this unique Airbnb. I mean, it doesn’t get more weird than a boat in the desert right? This rental is perfect for those looking to ‘rough it’ just a bit.
There are a few other unique properties at this campground, though the boat is far away from the rest of the campers. Check out the owner’s other unique Terlingua rentals below!
This secluded farmhouse Airbnb rental is conveniently located minutes away from Waco, Texas. The Silo House is a renovated grain bin that was moved from a family farm 50 miles away to it’s current location. The interior includes an upstairs loft with a modern artistic interior vibe throughout the 672 square foot silo. Outside you can take private showers under the stars or fire up the grill for some steaks!
I must warn that if you are vegan, you might want to skip over this one, though this is my favorite house on the list… This unique Texas Airbnb appears to me to be a wonderful place for a bachelor/bachelorette party or a family reunion.
There is space for 14 in the house and outside is every type of outdoor entertainment you could think of. Including, but not limited to, sporting clay ranges, a volleyball court, fishing ponds, creeks, and hundreds of native and exotic game to enjoy.
If you’re a fan of treehouses, this unique Texas Airbnb rental is the perfect one for you! Cloud 9 Tree Haus is one of four tree houses on the grounds which includes a shared pool.
The treehouse is also just a few miles from some of New Braunfels’s top attractions such as Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Gruene Hall, breweries, river floating and much more!
This one-of-a-kind pink dome house is a perfect rental for those looking to escape to the beach. It features 1,400 square feet inside and 2,000 square foot deck outside. Natural lights fills this house with sunshine, but that wraparound porch is just perfect for bathing in a Texas sunset.
This unique Airbnb rental was recently completely renovated from floor to roof, everything brand new and mint condition– or should I say pink condition? LOL…. Ok, I’ll see my way out now…
This Airbnb boat rental is an unique 2-for-1 deal! Get your own houseboat, and a mini-yacht (because how could you ever vacation on the lake without a mini-yacht??). It’s a humble little boat, but I love that it’s right on the water and comes equipped with all the best lake toys!
This is my second favorite unique Airbnb rental in Texas. (The first one is the Taxidermy Mansion I mentioned at the beginning of this list!) If you are a nature lover this home is made for you. Somehow it has combined indoors with the outdoors in a new and interesting way. The building is overloaded with windows which overflows the house with gorgeous natural light. Can you tell I’m obsessed with this listing!
This is the perfect (and unique) Airbnb rental for anyone looking to trade the hustle of the city for a peaceful weekend filled with Hill Country views and stars you can see at night. This three-story home is a fully-outfitted tower designed by a local architect.
It’s topped off with a deck overlooking 100 acres of undeveloped Hill Country property. It’s secluded but also just a short five minute drive to Downtown Boerne and a short drive to Fredericksburg.
Glamping. So hot right now… This yurt Airbnb rental in Wimberly is everything! Beautiful, glamorous, and best of all– secluded. With this yurt, you’ll get your own outdoor kitchen with refrigerator & grill, hot tub, and private bathroom with outdoor shower and flushing toilet. The kitchen and bath are covered by the rooftop deck that includes a hammock to soak in the spectacular views.
There are no words to describe the beauty of this Dallas Airbnb rental. This exquisite and handcrafted home blends Bauhaus contemporary with warm rustic elegance nestled in a secluded setting with a running brook and light filtered through dozen of Japanese Maples. So yea, pretty much the definition of an oasis! Booking my getaway here ASAP!
This is your wildest childhood dream treehouse come to life! This unique Airbnb in Texas sits on a gorgeous ranch. And with the homes abundance of of decks, windows, and outdoor areas you’ll be able to soak up all the beauty of Hill Country. My favorite part is the outdoor screened-in shower!
This is the cutest and most brightest Airbnb rental I’ve seen in Texas! This pet-friendly Airbnb rental is “one part hippie and one part cowboy”. The best feature is it’s only 2.6 miles from the Frio River so you can get close to the water but stay away from the crowds.
I’ve personally stayed at this cute cabin in Terlingua (which is one of my favorite spots in the world) and I highly recommend it. It’s an incredibly unique Airbnb rental and will provide you with peace and quiet that you need.
There’s no AC, but the building stays cool during the day due to the clay walls. The bedroom is up a narrow ladder, but the view from up there is perfect for watching the sun rise on Texas.
